Deadpool 2’s Varied Soundtrack, Avengers Tattoos & More Marvel Movie News

Stay on target

The first Deadpool movie was a violent, hilarious, self-aware joy, and it’s looking like we can expect a lot more of that from Deadpool 2. With all the fourth-wall jokes and funny quips though, you might forget about the first movie’s soundtrack. It added so much humor and fun to the movie, and it was full of legitimately great tracks. Think about it. You wouldn’t remember that opening sequence nearly as well if it didn’t use Salt-N-Pepa’s “Shoop” or Juice Newton’s “Angel of the Morning” so well. The sequel isn’t even out yet, and already the movie is making great use of music. First, we got this video last week.

Honestly, the funniest thing the Deadpool series does sometimes is play something completely straight and sincere. The banter at the end is funny (that Spider-Man burn is particularly good), but nothing’s more hilarious than the fact that this song is legitimately beautiful. The full soundtrack just became available for pre-order, which means we have a full tracklist. It’s… a really good album.

“Ashes” by Celine Dion “Welcome To The Party” by Diplo, French Montana & Lil Pump (feat. Zhavia Ward) “Nobody Speak” by DJ Shadow feat. Run The Jewels “In Your Eyes” by Peter Gabriel “Take On Me” (MTV Unplugged – Summer Solstice) by A-ha “If I Could Turn Back Time” by Cher “9 to 5” by Dolly Parton “All Out Of Love” by Air Supply “We Belong” by Pat Benatar “Tomorrow” by Alicia Morton “Mutant Convoy” by Tyler Bates “Bangarang” (feat. Sirah) by Skrillex

Of course, it has “Bangarang” on it. OF COURSE8 IT DOES! I worry a bit that this soundtrack list might spoil some jokes, but… I’m sure it’ll still be funny to hear the songs in context. It’s not that they use a particular song that makes it funny, it’s how they use it. Though I can’t wait to hear how Dolly Parton’s “9 to 5” comes up.

Over on the Marvel Cinematic Universe side of things, we’re all desperately waiting to see what happens in Avengers 4. Yes, there are two more Marvel movies between now and then, and they’ll both probably be good, but it’s real messed up to leave us hanging for a whole year like this. If you’re desperate for any information on what to expect, you might be in luck. One of the MCU’s stars may have accidentally let a decent-sized spoiler slip. It’s nothing like who comes back and who’s gone forever. But it’s still pretty major.

This comes out of the official Avengers: Infinity War magazine, which you’d think would have a pretty close eye on it to catch things like this. Marvel fan Ashley Renae shared a photo on Twitter from an interview with Gwyneth Paltrow.

so i found this infinity war magazine today that had interviews with the cast and excuse me gwyneth but pepper and tony don’t have a child?????? pic.twitter.com/3wspv5fsb7
